What is the purpose of Voice International?

The aim of Voice International is to promote sustainability through education. To do this we work with organisations, groups and communities in various fields.

What do we mean by "education for sustainability"?

It is an education which works "towards a more just and sustainable world in which power and resources are more equitably shared, by developing the skills, understanding, attitudes and values which enable people to work together to bring about change and take control of their own lives"
(Development Education Association UK)

"Education" is not limited to the formal education system, but includes all activity which entails human learning, such as child care, management approaches, community planning, local, national and international governance.

"Sustainability" means long term high quality relationships of life on this planet - a position where conflict is reduced because human and environmental equality and well-being are upheld.

Underpinning education for sustainability is an understanding of the interdependence of all things...at local and global levels.

What are the values of Voice International?
